Kim Rachmeler

Today: Kim currently is investing in and advising startup Internet companies which include TeachStreet, Trusera, Inc, and MoteNet.

Past lives: Kim most recently spent 10 years at Amazon.com on various senior executive roles including CIO International, Vice President of Worldwide Customer Service, Vice President of Global Supply Chain, Vice President of Personalization, and Vice President of Worldwide Discovery. During her time at Amazon.com Kim and her teams launched nine new business categories, four new countries, countless website features, and acquired three companies. Being a technologist at heart, Kim also spent five years early in her career as a software engineer at Hewlett Packard and five years at Silicon Graphics. It was from the ashes of a failed startup that she landed at Amazon.com. Kim has a BS and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford.

Brian

Brian Goffman

Today: Brian is a co-founder of Bevy and a Venture Partner at Madrona Venture Group. Brian focuses on companies building consumer and mobile applications, online advertising infrastructure, and Internet-enabled services.

Past lives: Previously, Brian led business development as part of the launch of the unified communications business group at Microsoft, including a significant expansion of Microsoft's presence in enterprise instant messaging, web conferencing, and VoIP. Prior to Microsoft, he was a principal at Austin Ventures, one of the leading venture capital firms in the US. At Austin Ventures, he was a board member or active advisor to companies including TechRepublic (acquired by C|Net), Listen.com / Rhapsody (acquired by RealNetworks), Motive (public), BroadJump (acquired by Motive), Ineto (acquired by Siebel), and BenefitMall (acquired by Allied Capital). Prior to Austin Ventures, Mr. Goffman led business development for PointCast and was a product manager at Reuters. He was also a consultant at McKinsey & Company, concentrating on strategy and marketing in the media, consumer electronics, and financial services industries.

Greg

Greg Slyngstad

Today: Greg currently is investing in and advising startup Internet companies which includes being on the board of Kayak.com as well as Roost.com. Greg is also an avid sailor, hiker, climber and biker.

Past lives: Over fourteen years at Microsoft, Greg held various positions including founding General Manager of Microsoft Expedia’s group. In 1997, Greg left Microsoft and co-founded VacationSpot.com, which became the leading reservation network for vacation rentals. In 1999, Expedia acquired VacationSpot.com and in 2000 Greg became the Senior Vice President, responsible for the running hotel and vacation package businesses. Greg left Expedia in 2002 to pursue an eight-month 5,000-mile sailing journey with his wife and two children from Seattle through Panama Canal and the Caribbean.

Michael

Michael Schutzler

Today: Michael is the Principal of BlueSevenPartners.com, serving as an executive leadership coach to more than a dozen clients including start-ups and mid-stage companies. He is an active investor in Seattle start-ups with a portfolio that includes Adready and Talentspring. Michael serves as an independent director on the board of Flowplay and Digital Forest.

Past lives: Michael is a successful Internet entrepreneur and investor who helped launch and build more than a dozen businesses. He has held senior leadership roles in public and private companies, non-profit, and public service organizations. Michael has successfully managed small teams and organizations as large as 350 employees. Previous roles include President and CEO of Classmates.com, SVP Global Games Division of RealNetworks, and SVP Consumer Products at Monster Worldwide.
