Founder & CEO
Oh Kevin, our Captain!
Foreman is an apt last name for Kevin. He was born to lead, and lead he does. He holds the vision from a business perspective, and empowers each and every member of the team to work hard and deliver. It's inspired leadership that starts and ends with open, honest communication.
So where did he learn this? Mostly, we suspect he was born with the instinct and drive to succeed through collaboration. But his MBA from Harvard Business School helped, as did his hands-on experience for 9 years at RealNetworks.
While at Real, Kevin led the team that created the resoundingly successful Helix platform. As GM of the Mobile Business Unit, he built an infrastructure and cultivated carrier partnerships to drive success in the mobile video space for Real.
The team appreciates his analytical nature, which is coupled with a deep emotional attachment to the product and our audience. What's more, he makes decisions based on what's right, not who's right. If there isn't data to support a decision, intuition will. (Until, of course, we get the data.)
Despite his optimistic, "wouldn't it be cool if" style, the best part of working with Kevin is shocking the heck out of him with new features that he didn't expect and he loves. And that's inspired leadership.
Director, Content & Community
Is it hard to be the prima fashionista in a startup with so many men? Not when you're Lisa. She brings the energy, power, experience, and passion of eight women in one.
It could be that Lisa's MBA from Seattle University prepared her, but more likely than not, it was her twelve years of experience in the world of apparel and eCommerce that catapulted her to where she is today.
After successfully helping to build Eddie Bauer's online channel from the ground up, Lisa had a stint at Expedia as well. Exploring the world of travel was exciting, but she craved returning to her passion for fashion – and Bevy was it.
Now, she manages "everything but the coding." (Which translates into product definition, marketing, customer and partner relations and so, so, so much more.) The rest of the team is delighted when she teaches them new fashion lingo, while she keeps everyone focused on Bevy's target audience.
Lisa is the voice of our members—directly and indirectly—which makes her indispensable to where we are… and where we're going.
Secretly, we think Lisa's joined Bevy so she can find the perfect pair of heeled boots that will help her navigate Seattle's rainy, hilly sidewalks.
VP, Engineering
Vydyanathan (VVK) leads the charge when it comes to Bevy's technology. And he's putting his experience to work. A graduate from the India Institute of Technology, Kanpur. VVK has seen a lot of technology action in his career.
VVK joined the Internet behemoth, Amazon.com in 2000, and spent eight years in multiple engineering leadership roles. With several appealing opportunities available to him, VVK ultimately left to join Bevy, finding the mission both inspirational and challenging.
While VVK claims that he's notably "fashion challenged," the rest of the team applauds his analytical skills and appreciate his determination to explore every option before deciding on a solution. His systematic approach has definitely heightened the quality of Bevy, how the team approaches technology, and our commitment to constant improvement.
Sr. Software Engineer
While Jason actively contributes to the caloric intake of the Bevy team (with his banana bread especially), we most appreciate his work on our technology team. He focuses on the back-end development to make sure that our features are best in class, including our catalog, search engine, user activities and image collection.
Before joining Bevy, Jason was at Amazon, where he earned international acclaim for his competitive monitoring tool. His degree from the University of Washington, coupled with his innovative vision, resulted in a tool that set new standards in the online marketplace. His team created a bot that crawled competitors' pricing, automating and validating the prices you continue to see on Amazon.com today. Between then and now, he gallivanted around Asia for a few months, before returning to the States to tackle a new creative challenge - Bevy.
Since joining Bevy, he's shown dogged tenacity toward problem-solving. Everyone here sincerely appreciates how dedicated Jason is to figuring out each and every challenge we throw his way. He'll take the reins to solve an issue, then take it to the next level to do what's right for our members - and what's best for the company.
Software Engineer
As long as we keep Lawrence challenged by our members' demanding expectations… as long as Bevy keeps connecting him with new products, fashions, cultures and people… as long as we're failing and learning and succeeding and working hard… well, that's as long as we'll be proud to work with him.
Lawrence is our web engineer and developer par exellance>. He's equally passionate about our members and our applications, so he's equipped to find the sweet spots of what works - and what doesn't. Without being emotionally attached to his ideas, Lawrence explores infinite new ways of presenting content that reveals how our customers want to engage with one another.
After years of building and fine-tuning Amazon's highly scalable item management and product advertising systems, he has found a new home for his broad interests. It wasn't with his weekend pastime of working with the Humane Society (or the 28-pound rescue cat). His attention to detail, perfectionism, and dedication to Bevy's members drives him to take a good idea and elevate it to greatness.
